The Chicago Cubs went into the top of eighth inning leading 5-1. It seemed liked they were cruising to a W. Unfortunately the Cubs bullpen could not contain the Blue jays hitters and it was now 5-4 Heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. With the game was closer than the Cubsessed would have liked it. Jason Heyward got on base hitting into a fielders choice next up Javy Baez stepped to the plate (.272 BA .819 OPS). He was 1-3 for the day with a run to his name as well. He has been under some pressure due to his high strike out rate recently and his epic swings that where making the windy city look windier. However in this at bat he crushed his twentieth home run of the year to give the Cubs some breathing room (7-4) to take them into ninth.

In the ninth inning Chicago Cubs closer Wade Davis got the first Toronto Blue Jay batter to ground out. Next up Jose “Joey Bats” Bautista the Bat Flipper himself. Bautista sent a 106 MPH ground ball deep in between second and third. Fresh off his home run Javy Baez was ready and did not disappoint the Cubsessed faithful. Making a play only Javy Baez could make, they ball was deep and Baez went the the distance to pick it up and fire a rocket to Cubs First baseman Anthony Rizzo for the second out. Davis secured the victory by striking out the next batter.
