Cubs continue to steam roll the Sox.

In game 3 of the Crosstown Classic the Chicago Cubs continued to be offensive. They have plated 15 runs over the past two games. The Cubs look to secure the Crosstown Cup with a third victory in tomorrows fourth and final game of the series. Starting pitchers Jake Arrieta and James Shields provided quite a pitchers duel. Sheilds pitched a hitless game up until fourth when he gave up 5 hits 5 runs. Arrieta flirted with a no hit bid before exiting in in the seventh after the Sox Moncada’s solo shot made it 6-2 with two out.

The Chicago Cubs team Captain Anthony “The Cornerstone” Rizzo had himself a big night. Going three for four with 4 RBI and a walk. Rizzo drilled a double off of starting Sox pitcher James Shields in the fourth inning to get the Cubs offense rolling. Jon Jay, Kyle Schwarber, Ben Zobrist and Addison Russell all drove in runs for the victorious Chicago Cubs. Russell hit his tenth home run of the year in the ninth to pad the cubs lead to help secure the victory.

Cubs left-hander Jon Lester (7-6, 3.95 ERA) versus White Sox right-hander Mike Pelfrey (3-7, 4.46 ERA). Lester will be pitching for a chance to win his third start in a row.
